“It’s not what I’ve done, Allie thinks to herself, it’s what I’m going to do.” I am still working my way through The Powerby Naomi Alderman. Because I am a mom of young kids, most of the time I have for reading is just before bed, even on weekends. This means my love for reading is constantly pitted against my love for sleep. This is to say, my pace on this book is slower than my infatuation with it would like. At least I can savor it. Alderman’s prose is a pleasure to read. This line hooked itself into my brain last night, so I’ve put it on my paper today.
