New name, same site! I have decided to #rebrand from onehappyblueberry to @words.by.emily. You may be asking yourself, why was this account ever called One Happy Blueberry? It’s not necessarily “happy” and there have been almost no blueberries to speak of. The short answer is that One Happy Blueberry had personal meaning to me, and I needed the pseudo-anonymity to give me #courage to start posting.
Here’s the longer answer: The name referred to two lives that were far too brief. In honor of them, I wanted to shine my own light a little brighter.
One Happy Blueberry was the armor that protected me from the fear of putting my light out in the world. I know putting something on the Internet and feeling like it’s a little anonymous is a bit like a kid covering their own eyes and saying “You can’t see me,” but it’s how I felt. Now I feel like the name has served its purpose, and I’m ready to better align my name and content. So, thank you, One Happy Blueberry! You were just what I needed. And an even bigger thanks to you, person reading this, for being here and (hopefully) sticking with me. Onward!
No, you do not need to hide your light under a bushel. I even think that the more you share the more you grow. Congratulations on this giant step forward. I am happy to take it with you.
