Welcome Sign

I’m pro-owning-your-own-shit. Part of my shit is that I love presents. Part of how I own that is making sure to take responsibility for treating myself during special occasions when I’m feeling in the mood to receive love via gifts.

For this holiday season, one gift I gave myself was to spend some time lettering a front door welcome sign for our Craftsman bungalow. I took the time to create a pattern inspired by our house’s stained glass and to paint it with some new watercolors I’d been itching to use. The greeting is “Welcome, please be aware of cats” (We have two indoor cats who love to sneak out the front door).

It was an all-around satisfying experience. However you spend your December 25th, I hope you get to feel some solid moments of satisfaction.
