Anger Is Fear’s Bodyguard

“Anger is fear’s bodyguard.”

Celeste Ng, Little Fires Everywhere

One of my favorite things about Insta is getting a chance to see so many other folks’ lettering work. I’ve especially liked the boldness of @tarwane. So when I was thinking back on the truth of this line from Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere, I knew his style would be perfect to play with her words.⁣ By the way, this is a great book. The plot is a well-crafted mystery, but it feels like it’s even more about relationships and family and perfection and growing up.

Have you read Little Fires Everywhere? What did you think?

Responding to anger, fear, and other uncomfortable feelings can be difficult. It’s tempting to meet force with force. But curiosity can offer a different, more effective way to manage these emotions.
