This is a piece that someone in my life I’ll call G commissioned to honor the deep and once-in-a-lifetime love that she and her husband shared.
I took my time with this piece to honor that love. It also gave me the opportunity to do something I have been meaning to do: I documented my hand lettering process.
With one look at this piece, you can probably see that my technical hand lettering skills are still developing. What you CAN’T see is that my skills as a researcher and organizer are well-established.
Thanks to these skills (and hours of online and in-person hand lettering classes, plus a half dozen how-to books), my hand lettering process has solidified into something stable.
