The Entire Sum of Existence

This is a piece that someone in my life I’ll call G commissioned to honor the deep and once-in-a-lifetime love that she and her husband shared. ⁣

I took my time with this piece to honor that love. It also gave me the opportunity to do something I have been meaning to do: I documented my hand lettering process. ⁣

With one look at this piece, you can probably see that my technical hand lettering skills are still developing. What you CAN’T see is that my skills as a researcher and organizer are well-established. Thanks to these skills (and hours of online and in-person hand lettering classes, plus a half dozen how-to books), my hand lettering process has solidified into something stable. Something I can count on. I’ve been meaning to share it with you. And now, thanks to G and this piece, I can. For all you ever wanted to know about how to hand letter, check it out.
