Sleep More

Sleep more (Hand lettered by Emily PG Erickson)

Note to self: Sleep more.

I know everything is better when I get more of it, so why don’t I sleep more? There are tons of reasons, but the biggest right now is that I’m exchanging sleep for things that add seasoning to the sauce of my life.

I trade sleep for time with friends, time with my husband, exercise, reading, and art (including creating this post, for instance). These things happen around the edges of my life thanks to the space young kiddos take up. Although before it was kids, it was my career and grad school.

So, although this season of life makes sleep hard in a way I couldn’t fathom before, I have a habit of putting a lot of things before sleep. But I need to find a better balance. Any tips to share?
