This post is inspired by a brilliant reflection @yellow.rocket.pink made earlier this week. Here’s a little story to explain what these words mean to me right now.
At some point after I became a mom, I started to give away all of my dangly earrings, which I used to adore wearing. Little kids + shiny dangly things = ouch. On the one hand, that’s practical. On the other, it’s a little sad. Even as a stay-at-home mom, I experience moments without my kids, and I’m allowed to dress that person how she likes to be dressed. There’s no reason for my non-kid outfits to be kid-friendly. I am a mother, but that is not the only identity that I have or that has value or is worth my love and attention. So, yesterday, I went to a maker’s market at @midtownglobalmarket and bought myself dangly earrings from three fabulous local jewelers, @dottir_jewelry, @larissaloden, and @ohyaystudio. I am already feeling more like myself.

Em, this is wonderful! How beautiful and creative. It also shares pieces of you with others (like me). I love it!
This is so sweet of you to say, Mom! It’s hard to put myself out there, but it’s also really exciting. 🙂
I think you have a great deal to share. You have unique ways of observation and sharing that can help others and be rewarding to you.
