What if your intuition was right? It’s so easy for me to fall into the trap of needing external sources to tell me whether what I know inside is actually true. I think part of me has this naive fantasy that all that information taken together can serve as a kind of omnipotent being. That if I just Googled the right words, I could avoid the pain of making mistakes. This unhelpful belief has me constantly questioning my own inner wisdom instead of tuning into it for guidance. So lately I’ve been asking myself: What if my intuition is right?
Example: If your body is telling you to eat a cookie, if you think that would taste and feel good to eat, what if that was ok — full stop? What if you didn’t have to look at MyFitnessPal to see if you had room in your macros for it? What if you didn’t need to check your FitBit to see whether you’d had enough steps to earn it? What if you didn’t have to Google whether the cookie was Whole 30 or VeganJanuary compliant? What if you didn’t have to remember whether the government’s My Plate says daily desserts are ok? What if you just trusted yourself? What would that mean?
