I Evacuated From Minneapolis. This is What I Told My 4-Year-Old

White people like me need to listen to black people and keep talking to our children about race, justice, and what’s right.

White people like me need to talk about race, justice, and what’s right. Even when we are worried we’ll get it wrong.

Giving Tuesday

When I was reminded that today is Giving Tuesday, my first thought was "Oh no." In this season of the year, in this season of life, I am giving so much of myself already. I don't have any more left. And I am not OK with that. So today, I will first give to myself. Second, donate to asylum seekers. (Quote and hand lettering by Emily PG Erickson)

Sometimes you have to put on your own oxygen mask first before you can help others, especially when you’re giving so much of yourself already as a parent.

Let’s Be Allies

“Let’s be allies” (Hand lettered by Emily PG Erickson)

Who has been an ally to you, rather than a competitor?
